High Desert Helicopters is a premiere flight training academy located at the Ogden-Hinckley Airport in Ogden, Utah. When you train with High Desert you’re training with a partner who is committed to your future career goals. You’ll find the High Desert motto, “Your Success is Our Success,” in every facet of the academy.
High Desert Helicopters is geared to train the high quality, professional pilots that employers demand. Due to excellence in training, 100% of the Full Professional Program graduates at High Desert Helicopters are actively employed in the industry.
Career Focused
A career as a helicopter pilot requires skill, experience and professional discipline. Any pilot hiring employer is looking for the best that’s out there. High Desert Helicopters builds career pilots. We work with your future employers to learn what they demand from employees and train accordingly.
Aircraft
The Schweizer 300C has many advantages as a training aircraft. Its triple rotor design provides greater in-flight stability for new pilots. The 300C is capable of training taller or heavier students than other training aircraft. The control inputs of the 300C are the same inputs used on any professional aircraft in the industry. But above all, the 300C is easily the safest training aircraft on the market with considerably lower recorded crash statistics compared with the Robinson R22. The greatest advantage of the Robinson R22 is that it is 20% less expensive for a flight school to acquire. High Deserts’ use of the Schweizer 300C is a great example of their interest in student success.
Aviator Scholarship
The High Desert Helicopters Aviator scholarships were created to attract new talent to the civilian helicopter industry. Several scholarships are awarded annually to prospective students demonstrating interest, determination and aptitude required to become a successful helicopter pilot.
During the last half of 2009 High Desert Helicopters will award one $5,000 and two $1,000 Aviator scholarships. Details about the scholarship application process will be announced on August 9th 2008.
Students must be enrolled in the High Desert Helicopters Full Professional Program to be eligible to receive an Aviator scholarship.
