More Good News Not Fit to Print!

In today’s HJ (10/13/06) another biased article from the AP appeared on the front page. While the emphasizing the trade deficit (how the Bush Admin. is responsible of this is beyond me) while ignoring all of the good economic news is typical of the left wing bias the media constantly shows. The Dow has broken all previous records recently, as well as unemployment being at 4.6% (considered full employment) and the fact that due to much higher tax revenues from a robust economy (from the Bush tax cuts) has lead to a cut of the deficit by 50%. Do you think any of this might be newsworthy? It might help the Republicans win in Nov. so all good news is verboten. Now, don’t get me wrong, government spending is out of control but do you really think the Democrats would do better?

And of course the never ending coverage of the Mark Foley issue is in start contrast to previous coverage of Democratic Congressmen engaged in similar or worse activity. Incidentally, Harry Reid (minority head of the Senate) was recently implicated in a land deal in Vegas (clearing 1.1 million) which smells and his failure to report his involvement clearly violates Senate rules but most media outlets have conveniently ignored or downplayed this controversy.

On a more local note it appears that city council woman Tami Pyfer was engaging in damage control with today’s soapbox. I do not know but I suspect that coverage of her behavior by this general web site caused her to rethink her antics. This can only be considered good and non left and Pete Brunson are to be commended for exercising their civic duty.

Peace
