Since John Kerry made outrageous comments about the United States Military in Vietnam and even became a Senator and Presidential Candidate this guy figured he would do the same. After all, it really paid off for Kerry didn't it? Well hopefully justice will prevail in this case. There are at least two more like this guy and I hope the same happens to them.

| It is difficult to convey Libertarian concepts in five second sound bites. That is why I have a problem with much of their approach. You need to begin talking to people at the level that they are, not some theoretical point which they are unaware. We can argue all day long about the Constitution and the Founding Fathers intent. I am much more interested in addressing todays problems on a level that most people (not totally liberal) can understand. I disagree with the Libertarian party on at least two fronts. First, they appose our wars in the Middle East. Secondly they are for open borders. While I understand their arguments I believe that they are naive, to say the least. If principle doesn't answer todays problems then one should rethink ones principles. At least that is my opinion. Michelle Malkin is very clear thinking on many fronts. She might not be right on all issues but do you only listen to those with whom you agree? |

I also think that Michelle is being dishonest here. I am not familiar with her other work but have a hard time trusting somebody after such a spin on what somebody said.
I used to respect Sean Hannity and just think he was slightly arrogant but the more I have heard him speak and also his own attack on Ron Paul. http://youtube.com/watch?v=yZ4IW0Y_7WY Listening to Hannity attack Paul and not letting him answer made me lose a lot of respect for him.
I don't mind another opinion on things but when that other opinion is deceptive I stop listening. |

| What both of you fail to realize and one of the points that I was trying to make is that both Michelle and Hannity as well as milllions of others misunderstood the point that Mr. Paul was making. For many it sounded just like the blame America first crowd. Of all of the point that he could have made quoting Bin Ladin and talking about our retailitory bombing of Iraq (after they had fired on our planes) didn't come across very well. Thus my point about starting the conversation where people are not where you wish they were or you are. I have great respect for Mr. Paul. I believe though that he made a major gaff similar to Mr. Deans in the 04 election. If people cannot hear your message then what is the point of making it? Just to be right or feel superior. Care must be made, especially with very short time frames like in the last debate. |

I'm amazed that it took him attacking an inflammatory long-shot presidential candidate for you to lose respect for Hannity. He's always been an arrogant talking head who is openly rude to everyone around him. I always shudder when he takes a position that I agree with because it is far too easy to attack his inflamatory positions (and methods) than it is to attack the more sensible points of the position. The same thing could be said for Bill OReilly, Michael Moore, Aaron Russo, or Bill Maher.
I am impressed, however, with the scepticism of Ms. Malkin, even regarding a topic that you would agree on. It's far too easy to just believe people when they agree with you, regardless of how often they have disagreed with you. I for one, am deeply concerned by her attempt to coopt Colbert's "Truthiness". It is probably an homage to the Report that also mocks conspiracy theorists, in which case I suppose that it is appropriate.
I have more questions, but I'll find a more Paul-oriented thread on which to ask them. Let's not detract from fake veterans' attacks on real veterans.

I do want to point out that Guiliani had heard this before. He refused money because a Saudi Prince made the very same suggestion that Ron Paul made. This was reported in Oct 2001. http://archives.cnn.com/2001/US/10/11/rec.giuliani.prince/
My problem with Ms. Malkin is that she took what he said and linked it to a group of which he was not talking about. She tried to make him look crazy when he has evidence to back his position up. |

| Guiliani has been working for the Saudi's. He has made millions of dollars from them. |
