A CALL TO ACTION!

Democracy?

Most people call our system of government a democracy. Of course this isn’t true we supposedly operate under a republic. This means that we elect representatives who in turn make decisions based upon what they deem best for the nation. Unfortunately, over the years more and more bureaucrats and judges make decisions or actually issue edicts which control a larger part of our lives all of the time. It seems though as long as people are entertained they do not seem to care a whole lot. This has been true throughout the history of mankind. The most famous were the Romans who kept the masses satisfied by games, spectacles and giving out food. Of course the masses really paid for all of this through their taxes but it’s easy to miss the direct link, especially today. One of the most cleaver things perpetrated on the American people was payroll withholding. People who be much more upset about the high amount they pay for income tax if they had to come up with the amount at the end of the fiscal year. My withholding it when you are paid, it creates the illusion that it wasn’t truly yours to begin with. A similar argument could be made for sales tax (because it is combined with the amount you pay for an item) making it seem to be just another expense for goods.

I forget the exact number but during the Clinton years the number of new Federal Regulations created was in the hundreds of thousands. I am sure that this hasn’t changed much since, because none of these departments of the government have been reduced. Of course judges amend the Constitution all of the time by finding rights or principles (in their interpretation) of the Constitution. And of course one of my biggest gripes is that the necessary information to form opinions is tightly controlled by the priest of journalism. Only the advent of the internet has allowed more people to see through all of the spin, hype and just plain bullBEEP that is shoveled out all of the time. The Priests have many ways to control public opinion. The spin they use for the stories that they cover, selectively using facts or opinion, but also by what they do not cover. For example, lately they have been promoting a poll which indicates that 70% of those surveyed believe the President can do something about gas prices. Now, if today’s conditions existed when Clinton was President there would endless stories about how the President cannot affect gas prices and numerous variations there in.

But if we truly lived in a Representative Democracy, the border would have been sealed long ago. Illegal’s use far larger amount of public resources (welfare, free medical care, crime/jail, etc) than any benefits that they produce. Even if you consider cheaper products or what taxes are collected. In a way this is like a selective tax that only benefits certain manufactures and other labor intensive industries. They certainly keep wages lower for less skilled labor. Many also work in the construction trades suppressing wages there as well. That is why the Labor Unions favor much stricter controls as well as many Black Leaders. This causes problems for many Democratic Party personnel who normally would be in lock step supporting those poor unfortunates.  When things get bad enough, which really isn’t that far off (in my opinion), then maybe more Americans will actually start paying attention to matters at hand. Hopefully, we will still be able to make matters right!

Peace

We are a Republic! Even many of our local elected people in Logan / Cache refer to our system as a Democracy. This is very disturbing. This causes me to wonder if they really know the Country they are serving.
