A CALL TO ACTION!

Racketeering!

The vast majority of Americans have absolutely no understanding of how our government really works. If you asked them they would probably tell you something like, politicians try and vote along party lines and how they believe their constituents would want them to vote. Nothing exposes this lie better than the recent actions regarding immigration. The recent Senate bill which passed Tuesday would allow within the next twenty years between 102-196 million new immigrants. The number depends on what assumptions one makes when determining the amount. Why, because if you grant citizenship then you have to allow their immediate family to immigrate as well. Now does anyone really believe that this bill reflects the best interests of all Americans or a just a few select politicians? To accomplish about anything in Congress you need to make deals. The worst thing that can happen to you is to get a reputation of not being a team player or to make an enemy. The old I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine. Rob Bishop will not go out on a limb for any reason. I do not care if it was a bill making it a crime to be Mormon, he would not oppose it unless he felt safe in doing so. Why, because the most important thing about being in Washington is staying in Washington. Even if you fail to get reelected if you have been a good little soldier they will find a great job for you in the myriad positions throughout the bureaucracy.

Do you know who really played the biggest role in getting Ruth Bader Ginsburg appointed to the Supreme Court? None other than Orrin Hatch! Until most Americans start realizing that they are playing in a rigged game and feel empowered to do something about it we will continue to get the short end of the stick. Do you ever wonder why many so called Republicans seem more like Democrats? Because they are making deals and voting ever how they think is in their best interests. That is why so many problems never seem to be resolved. There is no willingness to resolve them. President Bush’s latest proposal regarding immigration is just plain window dressing. The 6,000 National Guardsmen will do nothing to change things and will disappear within a year. Only 370 miles of new fence will be built leaving approximately 1500 miles unprotected. The people in Washington will be dead within the next thirty or so years and will not have to worry about the fruits of their actions. And believe me they are not bothered by principles. They are only worried about number one.

Did McCain/Feingold do anything at all to prevent moneyed interests from effecting the election? Hell no, and Congress just tightened some loopholes (doing away with 527’s) which make it harder still for the average American to effect the outcome of any election or issue. McCain was recently quoted as preferring to remove the appearance of corruption rather than following the Constitution. Did you read about this? Of course not! The Media love McCain. I think that he is a traitor and has violated his oath of office. Good luck in doing anything about though!

Peace
