A CALL TO ACTION!
Propaganda III
Today’s HJ (8/7/06) was in rare form. The article which leapt out at me was “Half of Americans belief it: Why the faith in WMD?” which in my opinion is the most one sided blatant pieces of propaganda which I have read in some time. The Major Media (MM) has such power! Not only can they misrepresent issues, but also totally ignore information which doesn’t fit with their agenda. How much have you read about the oil for food scandal? In the aforementioned article they even used Scott Ritter as an expert against the existence of WMD’s. Did you know that it has been proven that he received at least $100,000 from Saddam’s government? Now that is objectivity! Look at all of the people whom they quote. Every one is a Bush Admin. critic. An entire thesis could be written on this article. Never mind all of the captured documents which are now being translated which support the Bush Administrations original claims (these never seem to make the news). They dismiss Generals Sada’s book (with the statement: “at best un-corroborated hearsay”) where he discusses the transfer of WMD’s from Iraq leading up to the war. That’s an entire book dismissed with four words! Not one word about General Al-Tikriti’s videotaped testimony regarding Russia Speznaz troops transferring tons of material from Iraq to Syria prior to invasion (supported by numerous other sources). Nothing about the large amount of WMD’s seized from Al Qaeda terrorists after the infamous Jordanian wedding attack (imported from Syria) which surely came originally from Iraq. Nothing regarding an entire symposium (regarding this issue) recently held in Washington DC, where the transfer and failure to search adequately, was discussed at length by very knowledgable experts.
In order to really understand the issue you have to understand bureaucracy and how it works (now there’s a challenge). The entire intelligence and US State Dept. have a vested interest (their careers), in keeping knowledge about WMD’s in Iraq from coming to light. This whole thing defies logic but I have read too many accounts where agents within these groups suppress information. The best source that I have found to explain this is: http://www.Frontpagemag.com/Articles/Printable.asp?ID=22645
Let’s look at some of the other articles from today’s paper. On the editorial page is the usual blame Israel piece which places responsibility for the entire current situation in the Middle East on the victim. Then a truly amazing article giving President Clinton the credit for welfare reform and actually acknowledges the success of policies reducing people from government dependency. How that slipped in I would like to know. Then we have the obligatory article about the anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, another accusation against our troops regarding an atrocity in Iraq, a tiny blurb about Iran thumbing its nose at the world (which should have been on the front page), an upcoming trial of an ex CIA contractor accused of abuse of detainees, and most of all another article about the devastation on fish from global warming. Not too bad for a days work. When the MM gets around to writing an article about how only 25% of the American people put trust in the objectivity of the media then I think we will be getting somewhere.
